(This ain't a fairytale)
The castle grounds were quiet, and no one seemed to be around. This was just the time that Cora could use to get a bow and some arrows and head over to the shooting range for the archers. Walking over to the shed, she opened it quietly, grabbing a bow and a few arrows. Looking outside from the door, she walked out slowly, being as silent as possible, only walking quickly to the shooting range. For a girl, she was a very good archer, it was all thanks to her aim. Zander had his stealing, and she had her shooting.
Finally reaching the shooting range, she put the arrows on her back in a quiver, grabbing one and twirling it in her fingers, before putting it in the string of the bow, pulling back and aiming at a target, deadly silent. She was like that when it came to shooting. Absolute silence. You couldn't get her to make any noise when she was shooting. If she could, she would have worn a tunic instead of a dress, she'd have to ask Zander to try and find a tunic and the like for her that would fit. Like she was actually going to get one from the castle.
She told Rubin she'd run away some day, join her brother, maybe do something amazing. Who knew, anyone could need an archer. That could be her. Cora had amazing aim. She just needed proper clothing for shooting. Letting go of the arrow, she listened as the arrow hit the target straight in the center of the bullseye. Cora found it a bit amusing that she wasn't afraid to fight a man, but deathly afraid of water. Rivers, lakes, anything like that terrified her. Why? She had never learned to swim. That was why she was always careful on where she shot at.
So yes, was she tough enough to hold her own? Yes. But was she an utter scaredy cat when it came to water?? You bet your golds worth she was. Cora grabbed another arrow, shooting it at another target. Thinking of the plague, and her family, it was scary. Who knew if her youngest siblings were sick and dying? What if Zander or Robert was dying and she didn't know it? It was all terrifying to her. It would terrify anyony. All she could hope was that whatever it was, that it would leave soon.
