Anne turned her head as she surveyed the items in her closet. There were dozens of dresses of every color and style and naturally, that made her decision all the more difficult. She looked through the choices, still in her dressing gown and weighed her options. It was a given that she would look stunning in whichever dress she decided to wear, but Anne liked to make a statement with her style of dress.; she liked being known as a trend setter. She cracked her neck to the side and pushed a few dresses to the side, still surveying her options. After a moment, she pulled two out: a red and gold dress that she often wore with her ‘B’ for Blackwood necklace and [irl=http://natalie-dormer.org/gallery/albums/tudors/caps/105/normal_cap_8914435.jpg]more sheer and ethereal white dress
[/url]. The princess turned and faced her lady in waiting. Lady Lilith, how are you doing this morning? she asked kindly. Would you mind helping me choose a dress for today? Anne asked kindly, trusting her lady’s judgment. I’ve narrowed it down to these two I think. she said, gesturing to the two dresses laid out on her bed. Anne wasn’t sure which she really wanted to wear. Both dresses she had worn previously but, as today was not a special occasion, she didn’t see any reason to go to the trouble to find something new and unseen. She generally saved such dresses for actual occasions. Still, it would be a while before Anne could be ready enough to be seen by anyone other than her ladies or sisters. At the moment her dark hair was in a long braid well past her shoulders and a few servants were bringing up hot water for her to bathe in, but Anne usually liked to have her clothing for the day already picked. She walked over to her bed and ran a hand over the fabric in each dress as if would act as an indicator. Anne looked back at Lilith, Which do you think? she asked. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Post by Lillith Marigold Crone on Jul 3, 2010 0:07:49 GMT -5
Lillith had arrived recently, her ginger hair falling into her eyes despite all her attempts to tame it. She wore a dark blue gown that was simple enough, bordering on peasant without being offensive to the eye. Her hands were folded humbly before her and she was smiling as she did when around royalty.
To be frank, Lilly envied the princess for her extensive wardrobe. She had only five or six dresses and a dressing gown to call her own, and no jewelry to speak of. Her natural beauty was all she relied on, and that wasn't much. Clothes made the maiden as her mother had said. She nodded respectfully when Anne turned to face her and answered quietly. "I am well, m'lady," her eyes trained on the dresses that Princess Anne was choosing between.
"I would not mind at all. I'm always glad to serve." Her gaze turned thoughtful as she considered each option. She'd seen her in each dress before, which helped with visualization. She placed a finger to her chin in contemplation, seriously thinking over the decision. "Well, you've always looked much more regal in red," Lillith began, not daring to touch the fabric herself and keeping her ground.
"But white makes you look even fairer than you already are," she added quickly with a nod. "I would say white for today," concluded she, brushing her ginger hair out of her eyes for the umpteenth time.

Anne looked at the gowns, her gaze flicking from one to the other as she listened to her lady in waiting’s opinion. Her blue eyes bounced back and forth as she weighed the options. Anne knew that many people saw her as shallow for always taking so long to get dressed in the morning and wearing gowns of such detail and focusing on clothing but she didn’t really mind. There was little a woman could take pride in, little that they were allowed to do. Anne could rarely display her cleverness as women were not to be so sharp tongued. She needed to hide her love of books and her ability to comprehend them as that was not a woman’s place. Yet, she could display her love of fashion and her aptitude for it. Certainly, it was a frivolous endeavor, but it was something that she was allowed to do that she enjoyed.
Her hands grabbed the end of her braid and she played with the end as she looked between the dresses. She nodded at her maid’s advice. It pleased her to hear the compliment and she hoped it wasn’t the other girl simply saying as much because Anne was the princess. She tucked the braid over her shoulder and turned back to Lilith. Thank you Lady Lilith. I think you are correct. Anne said with as warm a smile as she could muster at the early hour. Would you mind picking out some jewelry to match and a corset while I wash? she asked as she picked up the other dress and walked it back to her closet. After placing the dress back safely with all of her others, she walked over to a side room where the servants had prepared her morning bath.
The water was hot on her skin, exactly the way she preferred. She let her body be submerged, scrubbing her skin nearly raw as to ensure her own cleanliness. Anne liked to start her morning clean, it helped to get her prepared for the day. So she did as she did often and sat in the tub until the water went cold. She emerged from the water soaked and her hair dripping having been detangled from its braid. A few of her servants wrapped her in towels so that she could dry herself off and she wrapped her hair in a towel in an effort to help it dry faster. She slipped into under garments and walked back into her bed chamber, ready to dress completely for the day.
She grabbed the corset and put it on so that all her ladies had to do was tighten it. Would you mind tightening this for me? she asked Lilith, turning her back so that the lady in waiting could get to the strings. Where did you put today’s jewelry? she asked.
